In Taiwan, the national oil company CPC expects to begin producing sustainable aviation fuel by Q2 next year with its Taoyuan refinery is undergoing equipment upgrades and replacements to prepare for production. If demand takes off for SAF, it could begin producing it at its Dalin Refinery in Kaohsiung to supply the Kaohsiung International Airport. The company has imported 1,000 metric tons of SAF to trial on domestic flights beginning this week. Domestic demand could reach 240,000 metric tons by 2030 if a 10% SAF mandate were to be enacted.
