Synergen, Topsoe, and Shaw to build modular green ammonia plant in Texas

November 13, 2025 |

In Texas, Synergen Green Energy announced a partnership with Denmark’s Topsoe and Louisiana-based Shaw Group to develop a 600‑metric‑ton‑per‑day modular green ammonia facility in Texas. The collaboration, unveiled from Synergen’s Houston headquarters, combines Topsoe’s dynamic ammonia loop technology with Shaw’s modular fabrication expertise to create a scalable model for low‑carbon fuel production.

Shaw will complete front‑end engineering design within eight months before fabricating the modules at its Beaumont facility. “Green ammonia is poised to become one of the most critical commodities of the energy transition,” said Synergen CEO Pranav Tanti. “Together we’re not just producing green ammonia — we’re creating a global platform for sustainable solutions that will enable clean shipping, power industrial sectors and support grid‑scale energy storage for decades to come.”

Topsoe Americas Managing Director Henrik Rasmussen said his team was “excited to provide our dynamic ammonia loop technology,” while Shaw CEO Dan Simpson described the project as a “combination of proven technology and modular engineering.”

The Texas facility marks the first of several U.S. projects Synergen plans to deploy using renewable power to synthesize ammonia for global markets.
