In Illinois, Aptar Pharma has released a partially biobased nasal spray pump for its Haleon Otrivin® brand. Dubbed Freepod®, the pump for the xylometazoline nasal decongestant is made of 52% ISCC Plus certified biobased feedstock. The biobased resins are made from renewable feedstocks such as bio-waste and residual oils. Together, the pump and bottle components result in an overall circular material content of 60% for the full nasal spray device. “At Aptar, sustainability is not just a responsibility – it’s a strategic advantage,” Gael Touya, President of Aptar Pharma, said in a press statement.
