In South Dakota, the Des Moines Register newspaper reports the state’s Public Utilities Comission decided on Tuesday that it would not reconsider its earlier rejection of Summit Carbon Solutions’ request to indefinitely pause its permit application for its proposed carbon dioxide pipeline. After the governor signed into law legislation last month forbidding the company to use eminent domain to secure the land it needs for the pipeline, the company sought a delay in order to reconsider its route. So now the company will file for its permit for a third time.
