In Texas, StormFisher Hydrogen secured a $50 million commitment from Hy24’s Clean Hydrogen Infrastructure Fund on February 11 to accelerate its pipeline of clean fuel production projects across North America. The investment will help advance projects toward final investment decisions and support the transition to low-carbon energy solutions.
“We are pleased to make our first direct investment in North America,” said Pierre-Etienne Franc, co-founder and CEO of Paris based Hy24. “The company can leverage its energy platform approach, strong offtaker strategy, and a favorable international regulatory landscape to deploy its robust pipeline of e-Fuels projects.”
StormFisher Hydrogen’s facilities in Texas, Kansas, Minnesota, and Ontario will convert up to 1.8 gigawatts of renewable energy into green hydrogen, e-Methanol, green ammonia, and e-Methane. The company’s most advanced project, in North Texas, is expected to produce over 120,000 tonnes of e-Methanol annually by 2026, with potential applications in hard-to-abate industries, including maritime transport.
“This collaboration with Hy24 enables us to advance projects in our pipeline,” said Judson Whiteside, President and CEO of StormFisher Hydrogen. With previous investment from ARC Financial Corp., the company expects to deploy billions in capital over the next decade to expand North America’s clean fuel production capacity.
