In Sweden, Stockholm Exergi has been awarded support in the Swedish Energy Agency’s reverse auction for bio-CCS. The granted support amounts to just over SEK 20 billion and will be paid continuously for a maximum of 15 years, from the start of geological storage. The support is an important part of the financing to enable 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide in minus emissions per year, which is more than what Stockholm’s road traffic emits in a year.
