In Brazil, Midiamax reported that Mato Grosso do Sul state should produce 14.6 million tons of soybeans in this new harvest, according to Data from Semadesc (State Secretariat for the Environment, Development, Science, Technology and Innovation)
The head of Semadesc, Jaime Verruck, estimates that the area cultivated in this soybean harvest will be 4.5 million hectares, an increase of 6.8% compared to the last production.
“What is striking is the estimated productivity, which, despite the climate problems, was revised from 51.7 bags to 54.4 bags per hectare, resulting in an expected production of 14.686 million tons”, said Verruck.
Verruck emphasizes that the final harvest data may still undergo changes. “The area, productivity and production are yet to be confirmed in the state, as we are only at the beginning of the sampling. Even so, the review of the data showed more favorable signs regarding the soybean harvest,” he noted.
