In Brazil, Compre Rural reported that soybean planting in Brazil reached 97.6% of the planned area for the 2025/26 crop by December 20th, an advance of 3.5 percentage points compared to the previous week. Compared to the same period in the 2024/25 crop, when 97.8% of the area had been planted, there is a slight delay of 0.2 percentage points .
However, compared to the five-year average of 94.9% , the work is ahead of schedule . This information was released by the National Supply Company (Conab) in its weekly crop progress bulletin.
Among the producing states, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, and Paraná have already completed sowing the oilseed this season. Planting is still to be completed in Tocantins (99%), Maranhão (54%), Piauí (95%), Bahia (99%), Goiás (99.5%), Santa Catarina (91%), and Rio Grande do Sul (96.6%), according to the report.
