November 9, 2025 |

In Argentina, Reuters reported that soybean planting for the 2025/26 season began in recent days in Argentina, where most of the producing areas have “optimal” surface moisture conditions, citing a study by the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BdeC).

Argentina is the world’s largest exporter of soybean oil and meal, and according to the BdeC, the current season’s soybean production would be 48.5 million tons.

“Sowing of the oilseed has reached 4.4% of the projected area nationwide. For the current cycle, the intended planting area is 17.6 million hectares,” the exchange said in its report.

Regarding the 2025/26 corn crop, the exchange said that producers are waiting for the optimal planting date for the late-planting cereal, which in Argentina begins at the end of November.

At the moment, they have sown 36% of the 7.8 million hectares estimated for the crop by the entity, which forecasts a grain production of 58 million tons.
