In Ukraine, APK Inform reported in its latest update that soybean production in Ukraine in 2025 may decrease by more than 1 million tons. This is due to the reduction in sown area under this crop, as farmers prioritized corn and sunflower during the spring planting campaign.
Based on the updated data from the State statistics service, the soybean planted area in Ukraine this year amounted to 2.08 million hectares, which is 24% lower than the record figure last year.
APK-Inform’s forecast for soybean acreage is slightly more optimistic – about 2.2-2.25 million hectares (-19%). However, even with the best yield prospects, soybean production in 2025 may not exceed 5.6-5.7 million tons, which is 17% or 1.1-1.2 million tons less than in 2024.
