South Korean consortium to demo LPG-12% bio-based DME
Through this agreement, the existing aerosol market will switch to more eco-friendly materials with an improved mixed raw material ratio, and the aerosol market will be activated, and the market entry for replacing refrigerants and foaming agents with eco-friendly materials will continue to be promoted.
In addition, the market for mixing 12% DME with LPG, approved by the UN on July 23, was planned with the intention of promoting a demonstration pilot project by discovering large-scale consumers who are in the spotlight not only as ship propulsion fuel but also as industrial boilers and eco-friendly fuel conversion. In particular, at this agreement ceremony, it was announced that based on the various research results from government projects such as the LPG-DME blended fuel supply project promoted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy since 2010, the DME utilization project for fine dust reduction, and the DME fuel supply project for agricultural use, the goal is to secure the economic feasibility and safety of LPG-12% DME blended fuel and to promote the enactment of necessary laws through a demonstration pilot project.
