In South Dakota, the South Dakota Searchlight newspaper reports Lincoln County has postponed until the newly elected county commissioners take office next year to decide how to handle permitting for carbon pipelines, like the one Summit Carbon Solutions is attempting to pass through the county. The planning department has come up with four different policy pathways to choose from, but considering that two of the commissioners lost their seats in the most recent elections to anti-pipeline candidates, the decision on the four pathways meant to be taken on Christmas Eve was pushed until the new commission sits.
