In Sweden, Söderenergi is now taking a historic step in climate work and reserves the very first negative emissions from its planned bio-CCS facility for AstraZeneca. Starting in 2030, South Energy will have the capacity to permanently separate up to 500 000 tons of biogenic carbon dioxide from Igelstaverket in Södertälje. Söderenergi is currently working on design and to make an investment decision at the end of 2026, the entire value chain is required – from capturing carbon dioxide to geological storage and certified carbon credits.
