Shiseido, Futamura, Iwatani, and LYB collaborate to create bio-based solutions for cosmetics packaging

In Hong Kong, LyondellBasell announced the joint development of a new bio-based film packaging solution in collaboration with Futamura Chemical, a firm operating in sustainable packaging manufacturing, Iwatani Corporation, a major Japanese trading company, and Shiseido, a renowned firm in the beauty industry.

This innovative cosmetic film packaging series partially incorporates LYB bio-based polypropylene (PP) polymer, CirculenRenew, in the outer packaging film of select products in Shiseido’s Clé de Peau Beauté line.

CirculenRenew, with measurable and certified C14 renewable content, is another cornerstone of LYB Circulen sustainable solutions product family, the company said. The CirculenRenew grades can be used as drop-in solutions without requiring any modification of existing processing equipment, it added.
