In Malaysia, Business Times reported that the Sarawak government is exploring the potential of a strategic partnership with Siemens Energy for hydrogen production in the state.
Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg said the visit to Siemens Energy’s headquarters opened up new opportunities for Sarawak to gain experience and benefit from the company’s advanced technology, especially in hydrogen production, according to the report.
He said Siemens’ electrolyzer technology can produce 350kg of hydrogen per hour, compared with Sarawak’s current capacity of about 130kg per day, making it an opportunity for Sarawak to boost efficiency and production capacity in the future.
“We have discussed with the company, and Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB), together with the Sarawak Utilities and Telecommunications Ministry, will study possible forms of collaboration in this process,” he said.
