SAIL and John Cockerill India partner to advance sustainable steelmaking with green hydrogen

In India, SolarQuarter reported that Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), India’s largest public sector steel producer and a Maharatna company, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with John Cockerill India Limited (JCIL), the Indian arm of the global John Cockerill Group. The agreement aims to combine the expertise and technological strengths of both companies to advance steelmaking processes with a focus on sustainability and efficiency. The key areas of focus will include exploring a joint venture in Cold Rolling and Processing for Carbon Steel, including Green Steel and Silicon Steel, analyzing the integration of green hydrogen into iron and steelmaking processes, and incorporating John Cockerill’s innovative processing technologies into SAIL’s future projects.
