In Singapore, Neste, KPI OceanConnect, and Global Energy completed the first delivery of Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ to the marine sector. This fuel, made from 100% renewable raw materials, is now being used in vessels, including cruise ships, operating in Singapore’s waters.
Neste MY Renewable Diesel is a hydrotreated vegetable oil that offers a low-carbon alternative to fossil diesel. The fuel is chemically similar to fossil diesel, meaning it can be used in existing diesel engines and fuel infrastructure without modifications. It provides a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of up to 90% over its lifecycle compared to fossil diesel.
“This first supply of Neste MY Renewable Diesel to the marine sector in Asia-Pacific marks a significant milestone for the industry and demonstrates the versatility of the product across a wide range of applications where it can replace fossil diesel,” said Ee Pin Lee, Head of Commercial APAC at Neste.
“We are proud to be industry first movers in sourcing and delivering renewable diesel for our clients, helping them reduce their carbon footprint and achieve their environmental goals,” said Jesper Sørensen, Head of Alternative Fuels and Carbon Markets at KPI OceanConnect.
