Raizen inaugurates $14.2M 2G ethanol plant

October 30, 2024 |

In Brazil, Raízen inaugurated its new Second Generation Ethanol plant at the Bonfim Bioenergy Park in Guariba (SP) on Friday. With an investment of R$1.2 billion, the company’s second cellulosic ethanol plant is the largest in the world and has already contracted 80% of its volume over a production capacity of 82 million liters per year.

The world’s largest E2G producer, Raízen is betting on biofuel to directly meet its commitment to produce the energy of the future in a clean and renewable way today, as a response to the growing global demand for a low-carbon economy, in addition to being an opportunity to expand into sectors that are difficult to decarbonize, such as aviation and maritime.
