Rabobank estimates 15 million tonne increase in Brazil’s soybean harvest

February 7, 2025 |

In Brazil, Dinheiro Rural reported that Brazil’s 2024/25 soybean harvest is expected to grow by 15 million tons compared to the previous year’s harvest, to a record 170 million tons, due to favorable weather conditions mainly in the country’s north-central states, according to Marcela Marini, analyst with Rabobank

Marini said that the harvest in Mato Grosso “is going very well”, in Goiás it is “excellent”, and that the expected productivity in Matopiba (Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia) should be positive.

She highlighted that it is now possible to talk about a “record harvest” of soybeans in Brazil, with a recovery after a failed harvest last year, despite the uncertainties in other regions such as Rio Grande do Sul, which is dealing with drier and hotter weather, according to the report.

Rabobank estimates Brazil’s soybean exports at 103 million tons in 2025, versus 98 million in 2024.
