Protium supplies green hydrogen to OXCCU for SAF project

February 7, 2026 |

In India, BioEnergy Times reported that Protium, a UK-based green hydrogen producer, delivered its first shipment of green hydrogen to climate technology firm OXCCU in 2025 at the company’s OX1 pilot facility in Oxford

The partnership represents progress toward producing SAF with lower carbon intensity by using waste carbon and hydrogen, highlighting the practical integration of clean hydrogen supply with advanced fuel technologies, according to the report.

OXCCU confirmed the milestone last year, stating, “We received a delivery of green hydrogen from Protium at our OX1 pilot facility, marking an important step in the production of SAF from waste carbon and green hydrogen.”

Commissioned in 2024 at London Oxford Airport, OXCCU’s OX1 plant is the world’s first demonstration facility designed to convert carbon dioxide and hydrogen directly into jet-fuel-range hydrocarbons through a single catalytic process.
