Promet-Plast hires ELQ to build green hydrogen plant in Poland

In Bulgaria, Renewables Now reported that Polish energy sector contractor ELQ has been hired by Promet-Plast as a general contractor for a 21-MW green hydrogen project.

The project features a green hydrogen facility with a minimum capacity of 21 MW, which is expected to produce 1,701 tons of RFNBO hydrogen annually. The electrolyzer will be powered by 49.36 MW of solar and wind energy while the storage capacity of the renewable energy infrastructure will be 41 MWh, according to the report.

The project has obtained a subsidy from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO) under its instrument for investments in hydrogen technologies, production, storage and transport, ELQ added.

The contractor undertakes to complete all the construction works and hand over the project in Gaj Oławski, the south-western Lower Silesian province, by September 30, 2027.
