Project Willow could lay out path to a green future for Grangemouth oil refinery

In the UK, the Financial Times reports that Project Willow—a feasibility study looking at how to convert the Grangemouth oil refinery in Scotland to renewable energy following the owners’ announcement earlier this year that it would be shut down—is about three-quarters finished. The study led by EY is recycling, biofuels and green hydrogen, but the current owners are under no obligation to follow the study’s recommendations nor has the government offered to invest in the potential revamping of the refinery in order to save 400 jobs that are currently at risk.
