Progresso group to invest $200M in corn-based ethanol

In Brazil, NovaCana reports the Progresso group is making its first investments in a corn ethanol plant that is being built in Uruçuí (PI) and which is expected to start crushing grains between June and July 2026. With a total investment of R$1.18 billion, the project is being carried out in partnership with Brasil Bioenergia (BrasBio), which has among its partners the Green Lake Fi Participações fund, H4 Holding and Ideal Agro. The Progresso group holds 25% of the business. The plant will have the capacity to grind 1,500 tons of corn per day, generating 620,000 liters of corn ethanol and 420 tons of DDGs.
