Powerhouse Energy files planning application for 40 TPD waste-to-hydrogen plant in Northern Ireland

In the UK, Fuel Cells Works reported that Powerhouse Energy Group has submitted a full planning application to the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for the proposed 40 tons per day (TPD) waste-to-hydrogen facility at Silverwood Business Park, Ballymena, Northern Ireland.

Extensive design and engineering work has already been completed to enable the submission and below are some renderings of the proposed facility which are included in the planning application, according to the report.

Powerhouse Energy has developed a process technology which can utilize waste plastic, end-of-life-tyres, and other waste streams to convert them efficiently and economically into syngas from which valuable products such as chemical precursors, hydrogen, electricity, heat and other industrial products may be derived.
