Port of Riga to produce SAF

In Latvia, LSM reported that the first renewable fuel production plant in the Baltic region is to be established in the Port of Riga, Latvia, in cooperation with investors from Ukraine. The main raw material for the production of renewable fuels will be vegetable oils. The Port of Riga will produce hydrotreated vegetable oils (HVO) and sustainable aviation fuel products, according to the report. The plant will process 236,000 tons of raw material – vegetable oil – per year, from which 93,000 tons of HVO and 87,000 tons of SAF are planned to be produced.
