In Egypt, Egypt Today reported that Polish firm Hynfra plans to establish in Egypt one of five green ammonia plants that will target Middle Eastern and European markets. The plant will have a capacity of 100,000 tons per annum in the first phase that will be completed by 2030. In the future, the capacity can be raised to one million tons, as the plant will be powered by renewable energy, mainly solar and wind energy. Further, the company plans to supply the surplus of its production to the local market, the report added. The plant will include storage, water treatment and electrolysis facilities. The initial cost is estimated to be $1.6 billion.
