In Indonesia, Indonesia Business Post reported that Indonesia’s state power utility PT PLN has signed a collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Transportation, PT HDF Energy Indonesia, and PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry to conduct a joint study on the use of green hydrogen for the maritime transportation sector. Hendri Ginting, Director of Shipping and Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation, welcomed the collaboration, emphasizing its contribution to achieving Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) targets. “The Ministry of Transportation, as the initiator of the study to convert ships into hydrogen-battery hybrid vessels, is committed to supporting and promoting collaboration aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the maritime sector. These efforts play a significant role in accelerating the achievement of our NDC goals,” Hendri said. PLN has produced 203 tons of green hydrogen through 22 Green Hydrogen Plants (GHPs) located across the country, the report added.
