Pili launches new partnership to drive bio-based indigo

In India, In Fashion Business reported that Pili, a French manufacturer of bio-based dyes and pigments, has partnered with California-based denim brand Citizens of Humanity and Turkish denim mill Orta, to launch a denim collection dyed with Pili bio-based indigo.

The report noted that Pili’s bio-based indigo is said to be the result of a unique processes that combines fermentation and organic chemistry to offer a high-performance, eco-friendly alternative to fossil-fuel based dyes.

“With our biobased indigo, we are setting a new ecological standard in the denim industry,” says Jérémie Blache, CO of Pili. “We now have a high-performance solution that meets the sustainability, traceability, and decarbonization demands of both brands and consumers! Launching this innovation alongside Citizens of Humanity is an incredible experience, and we are proud to partner with a leader in driving industry transformation.”
