In Vietnam, Vietnam.vn reported that the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) and Keppel Group signed a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) to promote the research and deployment of sustainable aviation fuel solutions in Vietnam.
The agreement addresses three key areas of cooperation: assessing the potential and feasibility of SAF production projects in Vietnam; studying technology, input materials, supply chains, and viable investment options; aiming to establish the first SAF production facility in Vietnam; and contributing to replacing traditional fuels, reducing CO2 emissions in the aviation industry, according to the report.
Pham Van Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrolimex, said: “The Vietnam National Petroleum Group is aware of its role and responsibility in the energy transition, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050, in line with the government’s commitment at COP26. The cooperation in the development of SAF is a strategic step that ensures energy security and promotes the sustainable development of the aviation industry.”
