In Brazil, the Infra News Agency reports Petrobras supplied three Transpetro ships with bunker fuel containing 24% renewable content. The operation was carried out between November 10 and 17, at Tebar (São Sebastião Waterway Terminal), on the north coast of São Paulo, considered the largest oil and derivatives terminal in the country.

The bunker used in the operation is composed of 24% biodiesel supplied by PBio (Petrobras Biofuel). The Zumbi dos Palmares ship, with about 1,300 tons, and the ships Rômulo Almeida and Carlos Drummond de Andrade, which received approximately 400 and 300 tons, respectively, were supplied.

According to Petrobras, the product meets the requirements of the IMO (International Maritime Organization), which establish strict limits for the sulfur content in marine fuels. The renewable bunker is classified as drop-in, which means that it can be used by ships already in operation without the need for technical adaptations to engines or on-board systems.
