In Argentina, La Politica Online reported that the Paraguayan Chamber of Oilseed and Cereal Processors (Cappro) considered that a greater industrialization of soybean in the country would be essential. Of the 11 million tons of soybeans harvested in the last crop cycle, Paraguay only industrialized 25%, according to the report.
Cappro’s general manager, Sandra Noguera, explained that it would essential to advance in adding value to the production of agricultural raw materials through their industrialization and transformation into higher-value goods.
“Paraguay’s soybean milling industry competes globally and is affected by the decisions of other countries that have established industries and are very active in promoting them to add value within their own borders. To compete, mirror policies are needed so that Paraguay can industrialize to its full capacity,” Noguera said.
