OQGN advances plans for green hydrogen pipelines in Oman

In Germany, Pipeline Technology Journal reported that Oman’s majority state-owned natural gas pipeline operator, OQ Gas Networks (OQGN), said it has made significant progress in developing dedicated pipelines for green hydrogen and carbon dioxide to support the nation’s energy transition strategy.

The company, a key subsidiary of the integrated energy group OQ, detailed its progress in its recently released 2024 Sustainability Report.

OQGN has also initiated detailed feasibility studies to explore the technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects of these new pipeline networks as well as actively collaborating with key stakeholders and CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage) developers to create commercial-scale projects.
