OMV Petrom signs biofuel feedstock agreement with Astra Bioplant

In Romania, the Ziarul Financiar reports OMV Petrom has signed a new contract for the purchase for pre-treated waste oil, this time with the Bulgarians from Astra Bioplant, a company that makes the Bulmarket group owned by Bulgarian businessman Stanko Stankov. In June, 2024, the company signed a contract similar to Expur, the manufacturer of the Untdelemn brand.

OMV Petrom has so far signed two supply contracts, a total of EUR 1.45 billion for raw material that will be used in the unit of sustainable fuels for aviation that it builds in Petrobrazi. The investment in the installation alone amounts to 750 million euros, an amount that includes two green hydrogen installations. The unit will enter into operation in 2028 and is one of the most important investments.
