In Oman, the Oman Observer newspaper reports Hema Energy’s X2E LLC has teamed with ARA Petroleum to trial the region’s first camelina field trials to see if the hardy oil seed crop could be productive in the harsh conditions of Oman. The land, water and financial resources for the project are being offered by ARA. The hope is the short-cycle crop that has up to 40% oil content by weight could be a good feedstock for renewable diesel or sustainable aviation fuel.
