February 25, 2025 |

In Oman, Muscat Daily reported that Oman is set to establish a sustainable aviation fuel station as part of its commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The announcement was made during launch of new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the cargo terminal of Muscat International Airport last week. Hamoud bin Musabah al Alawi, Acting CEO of Oman Airports, said the new EV charging stations are part of a broader strategy to cut carbon emissions and improve air quality at the airport. “Introduction of sustainable practices such as electric vehicles and renewable energy solutions is a critical part of our strategy to make aviation more environmentally friendly,” he said. Alawi also confirmed plans for a SAF production station to further reduce emissions from the aviation sector and help Oman meet its broader environmental goals, according to the report.
