Odisha state to supply broken rice as ethanol feedstock to local plants

In India, the Press Trust of India reports Odisha’s state government will begin leaning into broken rice as ethanol feedstock to feed the region’s main ethanol plant in Bargarh district as well as smaller plants around the state that are also grain-based. With higher prices for rice procurement, Odisha farmers are boosting their paddy rice production. Currently, the Food Corporation of India supplies those plants with surplus rice, but now the plan is to supply broken rice as state level as well.
