In India. BioEnergy Times reported that Nova Sustainable Fuels has received environmental assessment approval for the first phase of its plan to develop a renewable energy park in Goldboro, in Guysborough County, where it aims to produce sustainable aviation fuel.
The project will use waste biomass from Nova Scotia’s forestry and forest-based industries to produce low-emission aviation fuel.
Environment and Climate Change Minister Timothy Halman said the project would support efforts to cut carbon emissions while creating jobs and supporting economic growth.
The company will need to secure a second environmental assessment approval for the next phase of the project, which includes plans for a wind and solar power facility and a transmission line to provide renewable energy for fuel production, the report added.
