Morocco examines land allocation details for hydrogen projects

October 31, 2024 |

In Morocco, The North Africa Post reported that the Moroccan government reviewed the legal framework governing the allocation of land plots to green hydrogen projects. The report noted that Morocco had identified 300,000 hectares in its southern provinces to be allocated to green hydrogen projects, as it seeks to tap into available sun and wind to develop a green hydrogen supply chain. In a statement, the head of the government’s office said that 40 green hydrogen projects are being examined by the Moroccan agency for renewable energy. Morocco expects to sign the first preliminary contracts to produce green hydrogen in the country in the fourth quarter this year, the report added.
