In Monaco, the 2025 Blue Wake Awards recognized five winners for advancing sustainable technologies in yachting, including low-emission fuels, propulsion systems, and recyclable vessel design, during the Monaco Yacht Show’s Grand Opening Night.
Deasyl was awarded for a marine fuel made through low-energy green chemistry that “cuts CO₂ emissions by up to 93 percent.” Sanlorenzo received recognition for integrating a Reformer Fuel Cell system developed with Siemens Energy into a superyacht, delivering “up to 100 kilowatts of emission-free electricity at anchor” from hydrogen derived from green methanol. TYKUN was honored for its H1 hydrogen propulsion system, “designed in Italy and ready for production,” combining high performance with reduced environmental impact.
Tai Ping’s Biophilic Programme, featuring undyed rugs made from biodegradable fibers, was noted for reducing water use by 60 percent and energy by 85 percent. The Special Jury Award went to Reduce, an aluminum catamaran by Silver Yachts, recognized for its low-resistance hull and construction focused on recyclability.
“These winners demonstrate how credible, high-impact solutions are already shaping the industry’s future,” said Gaëlle Tallarida, Managing Director of the Monaco Yacht Show.
