In Spain, Negocios reports Moeve and its partner Apical have already completed just over 50% of the construction of their new second-generation (2G) biofuels plant in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva), a key facility within southern Europe’s largest 2G renewable fuel hub. With an investment of 1.2 billion euros, a flexible capacity of up to 500,000 tons per year of SAF and HVO and the creation of 2,000 direct and indirect jobs, the project aims to start production at the end of 2026 and promises to avoid the emission of 3 million tons of CO2 per year, the equivalent of 4% of road transport emissions in Spain.
