In Michigan, M Live reported that a Michigan company received a nearly $4.2 million federal grant to expand the sale and use of biodiesel and ethanol in three counties.
The report noted that the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Rural Development recently announced $239 million in funding nationwide to install and upgrade biofuels infrastructure such as fuel pumps, dispensers, and storage tanks. Grand Rapids-based Fleet Fueling of Michigan was among the dozens of recipients of federal funding to boost the availability of domestic biofuels in 18 states.
Fleet Fueling of Michigan, also known as United Fuels, owns 10 or fewer fueling stations in Michigan as an authorized franchisee of Pacific Pride, the report added,
The company will use the federal investment to increase its storage and dispensing capacity at seven fueling stations in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties. Estimates are that the expansions will increase the amount of ethanol and biodiesel sold in Michigan by more than 2.5 million gallons per year, the report added.
