Ludoil investigating acqusition of Priolo Gargallo Refinery to boost biofuels production

In Italy, Teleborsa reports Ludoil is currently involved, under exclusive arrangements, in a due diligence process aimed at the evaluation of a possible acquisition of the Priolo Gargallo Refinery.
The possible operation “would be part of a long-term industrial strategy, oriented to the protection of the energy security of the Country System, as well as the progressive conversion of the industrial complex towards production models consistent with the European energy transition trajectories”, reads a statement. In this perspective, industrial developments will be evaluated based on productions from alternative matrices and low-carbon, including, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) and bioethanol.
