October 1, 2025 |

In Korea, on September 28 at Ulsan Port, NYK Bulk Project Co. supplied low-carbon methanol by ship-to-ship transfer to the methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier Green Future, a vessel on time charter from Kamihara Kisen.

NYK stated the methanol is supplied by the mass balance method, with environmental value based on the use of renewable natural gas and green hydrogen in the production process. The company said the fuel “contributes to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions” and has ISCC EU certification.

NYK said it “will continue to aim to promote decarbonization and realize clean transportation by using a wide range of low-carbon and decarbonized fuels, including low-carbon methanol.”
