In the UAE, the Emirates News Agency reports Lootah Biofuels has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Emarat Petroleum Company to expand Lootah’s used cooking oil collection network to include Emarat’s filling stations. Emarat will also begin offering 5% biodiesel blends at the pump, while exploring opportunities together to produce sustainable aviation fuel and provide marine biofuels at the ports where it operates. The agreement is in line with the directives of Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and efforts to promote clean and sustainable energy, achieving the goals of the National Biofuels Policy and the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategy.
