LanzaTech announces first SAF plant in Oman

In Oman, IFC – International Finance Corporation is collaborating with LanzaTech to support the development of Oman’s first Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plant. The collaboration will aim to assess key technical and financial aspects of the groundbreaking Alcohol-to-Jet technology, which turns waste carbon rich gases to sustainable alternative jet fuel. The project complements the GCC’s role as a global aviation hub through substantial investments in aviation infrastructure.

The project is in line with رؤية عُمان 2040 Oman Vision 2040 agenda towards sustainable manufacturing, economic diversification and job creation, an essential pillar of The World Bank Group’s mission in the Country. This collaboration reflects IFC’s continued expansion in Oman following landmark agreements announced during ‘The World Bank Group Day’ last year.
