Kent to oversee major Saudi green hydrogen project

October 2, 2025 |

In India, BioEnergy Times reported that global energy services company Kent has been selected to provide technical oversight for one of the world’s largest planned green hydrogen facilities.

The company was appointed by the developer, ACWA Power, to serve as its representative for the Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub in Saudi Arabia.

The project will be built in the Red Sea port city of Yanbu and will handle the entire process of creating green hydrogen, from generating renewable power and treating water to producing ammonia and shipping it abroad, according to the report.

When fully operational, the facility is designed to create up to 400,000 tons of renewable hydrogen each year. This hydrogen will be converted into more than 2.2 million tons of green ammonia for export, the report added.

In its role, Kent will act as the technical advisor to ACWA Power during the initial design phase, which is being handled by a partnership between two other firms.
