In Senegal, Intellinews reports that Jord AB’s African arm has secured the first 300 hectares of a planned 1,000 hectares in Senegal for a 50,000 metric ton biomass pellet project. The remaining land is expected to be allocated in the next few weeks and will allow the company to replicate its current project in the Dominican Republic. The pellets are intended to supply 40% of the country’s energy demand by 2030. The alloted land has been unused for the past 20 years.
