In Singapore, Manifold Times reports BAC Renewable Energy, Singapore-based Dovechem Group, and TLP Terminal signed a Memorandum of Agreement on February 7 at Tanjung Langsat Port, Johor, to develop the BAC RE ASEAN Biofuels Storage and Exporting Hub for handling biogas-derived fuels, including BioLNG.
BAC RE described the project as a step toward “establishing a market for biogas-derived products, enabling producers to convert previously stranded resources into high-value, globally traded green fuels.” The facility will store and export biofuels for both international markets and maritime bunkering.
TLP Terminal said the site will accommodate a range of vessels, from small tankers to large ocean-going carriers, and will implement “cutting-edge monitoring systems, optimized vessel scheduling, and enhanced safety protocols” to improve efficiency and turnaround times. The project is expected to position Johor as a key regional hub for sustainable maritime fuel.
The initiative aligns with broader efforts to reduce emissions in shipping by increasing the availability of biofuels. “By bridging this gap, we are creating a sustainable, scalable value chain where biogas can be refined into BioLNG and other advanced biofuels,” BAC RE said.
