JBS’ Biopower to invest $25.1M in modernization at three biodiesel plants

In Brazil, Biopower, a company of JBS Novos Negócios that produces biodiesel, has just announced an investment of R$ 140 million in modernization and technological innovation of its three plants, located in Lins (SP), Campo Verde (MT) and Mafra (SC). The contribution, the most significant since the construction of the Mafra unit in 2021, prepares the company for a new cycle of growth and reinforces its strategic role in the national energy transition. With innovation, Biopower projects its production at a record volume of about 650 million liters in 2025, the company said in a statement. Among the investments is the implementation of enzyme esterification technology, a modern process that replaces chemical catalysts with high-efficiency enzymes
