In Texas, Jacobs was selected by Cadent Gas on behalf of Capital Hydrogen to deliver the Pre-Front End Engineering Design (Pre-FEED) phase of the East London Hydrogen Pipeline (ELHP) project. The pipeline will span 56 miles through East London, north of the River Thames and will connect major industrial zones to a steady hydrogen supply. This project will assist in the decarbonization of sectors like transportation and power generation – all crucial to global and regional energy transition, said Jacobs. The firm also noted that the ELHP project is a key component of Capital Hydrogen’s larger program, which will deliver a transition to hydrogen for gas pipeline networks in London. “Our hydrogen teams work collaboratively across geographies and sectors, turning transformational ideas into intelligent solutions to create a cleaner energy future for all,” said Jacobs Vice President James Nash. “This project builds on our longstanding relationship with Cadent and propels this crucial East London decarbonization project to benefit the community and industry in the area.” Upon completion of the Pre-FEED, the project will advance to the full FEED phase, where final engineering designs will be developed in preparation for construction.
